Hello everyone!
Let me begin by saying “thank you,” to each of you for helping in any way possible! Whether it has been through cards, sharing on social media, flowers, monetary or by phone calls/texts!

I’m beginning this fundraiser on behalf of my daughter, Tabetha Danielson, who has been battling with her health for the last few months. Any funds raised will go to helping the Danielson family pay medical bills, hotels and travel costs, paying their mortgage, monthly expenses, and due to Tabetha not being allowed to return to work yet, the family's health insurance premiums are also being paid out of pocket. So, today, I'm coming to you as a fellow mother, daughter, sister and friend.

On June 12th of this year, Tabetha presented to the emergency department in Bemidji with severe abdominal pain, decreased appetite and nausea. After running some tests, she was diagnosed with "idiopathic (no known cause) acute pancreatitis." Due to her labs being so elevated, she was transferred to the intensive care unit for five nights. During a follow-up appointment in June, the surgeons felt it would be in her best interest to have a diagnostic laparoscopy (5 small incisions) to see if they could pinpoint why the labs and continued pain was still prevalent. While in surgery, they located a “large mass that takes up a majority of the pancreas.” It was determined to be too risky to look any further inside. As part of this four-day hospital stay, they ordered a specialized MRI (MRCP) which indicated that a 6.1 cm x 5.8 cm pseudocyst was taking up a large portion of her pancreas that required further care.

At the direction of her family physician and surgical staff, we loaded up and headed to Sanford Hospital in Fargo to see the gastroenterologist. It was learned after speaking with the specialists, that there would not be a simple fix of any sorts. Therefore, we would have to be patient and wait until the outer "wall" of the cyst became hard and thick enough to remove it safely. Removing it any sooner could result in multiple more surgeries, infections and also brought with it a higher mortality rate.

In the meantime, Tabetha has been at home trying to recover. It has been an endless line of trying to find medications that work while still being able to function. Countless doctor appointments, new prescriptions, and lengthy hospital stays have taken a toll on her little family - physically, financially, and emotionally. It has been a very long ordeal for all involved, and we are being cautiously optimistic for things to improve in any way possible.

Tabetha has always been a public servant. She started out as an EMT, continued her education and became a Critical Care Paramedic. Doing such opened her eyes to becoming a 911 Dispatcher for the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office where she has been for the last five years. Her husband, Simon, also works nearby as a full time police officer and together, they have volunteered countless hours in each new community they’ve encountered. They’ve even spent time during the holidays by separating and dispensing Christmas gifts through the Fosston Area Giving Tree.

As a parent, it is difficult to see your child struggle but to know there is nothing you can do for them medically, and I knew this would be an opportunity to give back to this beautiful family that has already given so much of themselves. They now need us to pull together and help show support in any way we can as they continue to navigate this uncharted territory.

Sincerely, Donna

**For those that have asked, here is a photo that was taken
from her MRI on June 30th. The large white mass in the middle
of the abdomen is the trouble maker!
