Mario Gois II Cancer Treatment Fund

I think most of us know that Mario has been fighting cancer with all he's got. Up until now he and Shannon have been covering the expense of treatment and the loss of Mario's income on their own. They absolutely did not want to ask for or accept help.  Well, the time has come that they simply don't have that option anymore and I know so many of us love them and are willing to help. Now's our chance to help this beautiful family reach their only chance of treatment. 

A few weeks ago Mario was told by his doctors at Stanford that they had done all they could. His cancer continues to progress and none of the medications available have worked. They have no options for him other than to let the disease take it's course.

Since then a very promising trial has been brought to their attention by another patient with the exact same type of cancer as Mario. This gentleman has made a remarkable recovery. He has gone from being so sick and weak that he couldn't walk to being back at work fulltime. Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but this is Mario's only chance at this point and hopes are high that he could have similar results.  

Mario had a consult this week with the doctor running the trial and he has accepted Mario as a new patient and accepted him into the trial, but all treatment will be in the Los Angeles area. Travel expenses alone are roughly $1,000 a month with this month being even higher because he has additional testing that needs to be done at their center before he starts treatment.  Then there are things like meals, Shannon's lost wages, and probably a bazillion things I'm not thinking of at the moment. We can pretty much count on those unexpeced expenses as they always pop up. Always. 

So, my idea is to take this giant burden, break it into a bunch of small pieces and get it handled! What do you think? I think we can do this. 

Oh, and though I'm setting this up for them, Shannon and Mario will have sole access to any funds raised.
