This site was created in an effot to assist Giovanni Torres in obtaining some financial aid .While being diagnosed with a very rare STAGE 2 BRAIN CANCER. That 1 out of 70 million people get. GERMINOMA.The diagnosis was germinoma, melanoma, pituitary neuroendocrine tumor and poorly-differentiated carcinoma.
Heres a little background to his story:
Back in Nov 2015 gio was admitted to the hospital on behalf of his employers being concerned. He was Dehydrated and became disoriented, and was hospitalized for a week. Other than dehydration, cause was still unknown.
Days, Weeks,Months go by of giovanni complaining about his vision becoming blurry/headaches, while seeing doctors to figure out why.
2 weeks before his birthday March 23 he was given a appointment to go see a specialist for the blurry vision. April 15 2016 ,test and several xrays were taken at the time. Doctor noticed immediately something was wrong. Less than 48 hours later Giovanni was admitted to Tampa General Hospital were he was being monitored.
Back to back blood work, iv changes,Medication, different doctor coming in and out,Spinal Fluid,XRAYS,Ct scans,MRI'S, etc. Until answers were getting shorter.Surgical Team came in and explained to our family what needed to be done next. Biopsy of the Head/Brain. That means cuting into the skull and removing 4 different specimen to send to the laboratory.
DIagnosis: Neuroglial lesion with secondary inflammation. Differential includes: Hamartoma,dysplastic neuroglial lesion(TS), ganglioglioma.
So to sum everything up, The surgical Pathology report states Giovanni Torres does have GERMINOMA.

Gio is only 25 years old, Graduated from Leto High School.Born in Jamaica queens New york, Raised in tampa,fl. Research states ,Germinomas are most commonly diagnosed between the ages of 10 and 21.Germinomas, like several other types of germ cell tumor, are sensitive to both chemotherapy[8] and radiotherapy. He was giving opition on what to do next. Which chemo and radiation were chosen.While undergoing the biopsy and the start of chemo, his vision is not progressing due to the size of the CANCER that continues to push on his eyes causing him to continue to go blind. Doctors do not know if he will regain his sight back. Its one thing to go though cancer and fight it but to loose your vision on top of it. Is a very harsh situation.

Now the talk is what are we going to do next due to exceeded medical bills, hospital stays, or more medical treatment, White blood cells,chemo , radiation.Surgerys.
We are asking for the help of others to donate what they can so that Giovanni Can continue to get all his treatments. Insurance is covering what they can but not much. Anything will help. Giovannis bills are adding up and is needed more special treatment
