#TeamGardner medical expenses
Gardner and Jackie Marshall for those that don’t know them are two hard working, loving and caring people, if Gardner isn’t on his lobster boat working, then he can either be found at camp fishing or Teaching his two young granddaughters to fish and build traps.
On March 6th they got the devastating news that no family wants to hear. Gardner was diagnosed with stage 3 ampullary cancer, he had a temporary stent placed in his bile duct at York hospital and was instantly referred to a larger hospital (MGH) due to the type/location of his cancer.
On April 7th he underwent a 10 hour whipple surgery to remove the cancer which was successful, but healing after surgery has been more complicated.
Gardner is now back at MGH for the second time after his surgery due to post op complications. Jackie his amazing wife is nurse at a local doctors office here in York, has been working when possible, but also wanting to be by his side while hospitalized.
Gardner is a local lobster fisherman and former firefighter for York. He will be out of work for some time specifically the “busy” season (this summer). All donations will help go toward medical expenses and help them financially until Gardner can return to the Bossy Lady.
