Monday, March 16th began as a normal day for 17 year old Fredrick K. White, affectionately known as "Lil Fred". He has a 13 year old brother and an 11 year old sister who look up to him. Fred is a straight "A" student and athlete who attends school at Gray Collegiate Academy in West Columbia. After school and basketball practice, some friends asked Fred to take them to grab something to eat before he left for work at Dunkin Donuts. Lil Fred's life was about to change... Within a matter of minutes, Fred lost control of his vehicle, the SUV flipped, collided with a parked SUV and a motorcycle. Fred and three of his friends were ejected from his SUV. One of the kids got trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut out of the SUV with the jaws of life.

All of the passengers were injured, and they all have now been released from the hospital except Lil Fred. Fred's journey has been, and will be a little different. In 72 hours from the time Fred was rushed to the hospital, he had 3 major surgeries to his neck, spine, and stomach. They also had to remove his spleen, and appendix. He is currently still recovering in ICU.

After his surgeries, it was discovered that he had feeling back in his shoulders and arms but not his hands. His parents are trusting and believing that after the shock and swelling subsides that he will regain sensation and mobility in his entire body.

His loving parents, Fredrick Jr. and Solom, have been at his bedside the entire time. They are trusting God for complete healing. Being on a ventilator prevents regular speaking communication but, he and his father have come up with a brilliant way to communicate and it's working great. The staff at the hospital are amazed as to how well the communication works. At this time, we know they are incurring huge medical bills. The recovery process will be lengthy with extensive therapy ahead.
This fund is to help alleviate his parents of the financial burden that will be a part of this process, so that they may fully attend to Fred’s physical and emotional needs at this time. Along with escalating medical bills will be missed income because his parents will be a part of his recovery. The White family is extremely grateful for any donations as well as your thoughts and prayers for Lil Fred at this time.
