Hi everyone, for those of you who don't know me I'm Kaitlin's sister Erin. I'm sure most of you know parts of what has been going with Kaitlin & Daniel's beautiful 3 year old little girl, Annmarie, and have been asking how you can help. I have been blown away by the community they have formed for themselves and the outpouring of love and support you have all been offering for them. They have always been willing to drop anything to help those in need and have touched many peoples lives. I know that this response is testament to the type of family they are, and the relationships they have formed both as a family and for Kaitlin & Daniel on an individual level. I'm positive that if everyone they have helped along the way or anyone whose lives they have touched or made better in some way were able to give even a few dollars we would be able to make a significant impact on the burden they are about to take on. For those of you who don't know the story please see below.

Friday December 6th started normal, but with a slightly sick Annmarie. She appeared to just have a typical bug or cold with a fever but suddenly on Friday night things escalated quickly. As Kaitlin, Tobias, and Annmarie were driving home Annmarie began to have a seizure, Kaitlin quickly pulled over to CVS to run inside for help. Annmarie had stopped breathing and started turning blue. Kaitlin, being the superhero mom that she is, gave Annmarie CPR while yelling for help. Annmarie had to be intubated and life stared to the CCMC PICU where she has been ever since. Once admitted it was determined she had several viruses, pneumonia, and something bacterial.
She was kept on intubation until Wednesday after a failed attempt at removal on Sunday. Thankfully, all forms of breathing assistance were able to be removed on Thursday. However, over the course of several days while her team tried to get things under control she continued to have many seizures. The sedation has now been lifted but her Nero team is not seeing the progress they had hoped and she isn't very "Annmarie" right now. The seizures are now be effectively controlled with meds and her team continues to be hopeful that while her brain suffered a lot in a few days it just needs more time to heal and repair itself. We are still searching for answers on exactly why she is having the seizures and she should be getting and MRI soon. However, with that being the case the Finn's could be looking at weeks remaining at CCMC with a good chance of needing some form of help to get a back on track.

Anyone who knows Kaitlin and Daniel know that they would rather be the ones doing the helping than the ones asking for it but with the realization that this may be a longer hospital stay than we initially hoped they have given me the okay to start asking for help for them. As most of you know they have 5 other kids at home - their 4 boys as well as a foster baby that has been part of their family since April. This is causing daily back and forth to the hospital for trade offs as well as much missed work for Daniel. They kids, as expected, are having a hard time and missing their sister as well as their Mom & Dad. Particularly Tobias, who witnessed the ordeal on Friday, and William who is the oldest and understands a bit more than the other kids what is happening. Daniel's income being primarily commission based & working for himself he will be struggling between the desire to be there for Annmarie, Kaitlin & the other kids and needing to continue to support the family and maintain his business. My hope is that what money we can raise for them will not only go toward helping with the medical costs they will incur, gas, etc. but that it will also give Daniel some piece of mind & ability to take some time and be with his family instead of worrying about income.

If you are unable to help financially at this time, we ask that you support them with as many prayers as you can offer for Annmarie to continue to come back to them. I have also posted a website where you can sign up to help them with tasks & meals as needed.
Thank you all so much and I will continue to update you all as Annmarie continues to progress.
