#TEAMDAYDAY

August 2013 our lives changed forever. Damian (DayDay) was 6 years old when he began his battle with a malignant tumor, medulloblastoma. To say Day fought long and hard is a complete understatement.

The countless days at the hospital, major 12-hour brain surgery, MRI's & CT scans, aggressive chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant, radiation, Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy, and the excruciating pain he was in was unbearable but nonetheless, our lil superhero did it! With his amazing mother by his side through it all, Mario, his siblings, and the rest of #TEAMDAYDAY, our lil superhero kicked cancer it the butt!!!

It has been a long and hard journey for Dayday and the family. From being diagnosed, the fight itself, the recovery, the adjustment to the "new normalcy" of their lives again. This family fought - fought like no tomorrow, fought so hard because their lives literally depended on it. It has been such a blessing to be able to spend holidays, birthdays, and even a simple family dinner together again.

September 2018, the horrific disease once again shattered our lives and our hearts. Medulloblastoma was back again, this time it was not found on his brain but his spinal cord. I will never forget the day my sister told us the news. We had just enjoyed a family vacation in Oxnard and Dayday was his jolly, high spirited self. No one could ever guess that the nasty tumor was back.

Damian had to undergo another surgery to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, doctors could only remove so much as it is now wrapped around his spine. So back to chemotherapy and radiation he went. Dayday is currently on Round 3 of chemotherapy, his little body can no longer withstand radiation. First two rounds were tough on him, but like always, he fights with a smile and with spirits so high.

He has had the maximum radiation to brain and spine that doctors are comfortable giving without affecting his quality of life. With relapse we have been given an unfavorable outcome but we will fight and pray together for a miraculous recovery and medical advancement.

If you have ever met him, you understand when I say he is so amazing, so sweet, and the bravest person I know. He has touched so many lives.

I am sharing this family's story with you all in hopes to spread awareness to Childhood Cancer and to ask you all for any amount of donation your heart so desires to give my sister as she takes care of her baby. Our family, Diana's work family, and friends would like to help ease their financial load as she helps her baby fight for his life once again. If you are unable to to give any monetary donations, I humbly ask you for some much needed prayers.
