Libby Cioffis Cancer Treatment Fund

For those of you that know Libby, you know what a kind and generous woman she is. It was devistating when she was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer but she has been fighting hard ever since. 

In late October after receiving some not so promising news, Libby received a call from a doctor at the  University of Chicago informing her that she was one of 6 people who they have found that fit the requirements for a new treatment they are trying and have had great success with . The next week Libby got to start her treatment and it seemed to be going well until they found out that because the treatment is experimental, insurance would not cover the cost of $32,000 a session. Her husband John has contacted the insurance company, the drug manufacturer, and just about anyone else to try to find a way to get Libby the care she needs. In the mean time she has been put on a very harsh chemo which put her in the hospital for a few days.

All funds raised here will go towards an attempt to get Libby back on the experiemental treatment and/or help pay any medical expenses she has.

Libby recently told me she has one wish and that was simply for more time with her boys, so let's do all we can to give  her that time and help elminate the stress of bills for the family.
