#TeamChristine-Our SPIRIT is STRONG!

Hi! Paddy (Fox) Madaleno (sister to Christine), Scott Frauenheim (brother-in law to Christine) and John Redmond (friend of Christine) here. We started this fundraiser for Christine and Michael Frauenheim and Family. Christine was on a 9-year Ocular Melanoma Cancer journey, and through it all, Christine was the ultimate warrior. She continued to be a warrior in every way imaginable. Christine was recently diagnosed with leptomeningeal disease, noting that her melanoma has spread to her brain, spinal fluid and spine.

Christine passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022. Any funds raised have continued to cover family and medical costs before and after Christine's passing. Any additional funds are helping the family cover the various celebration of life costs. The entire family is so grateful for your ongoing support. ❤️

Christine recently had a shunt put in her brain to help redirect spinal fluid to her stomach and has been working to stay strong. Christine received a 2nd opinion two weeks ago from Memorial Sloan Kettering, and there is an option for Christine to try Proton Beam Therapy. Christine will begin to receive this treatment on August 1st.

As Christine's journey continues, Michael has been apprehensive about any idea of starting a fundraiser like this. He knows how many people have been there for them over the past nine years, financially and emotionally. Paddy and I, with the support of John Redmond, reminded Michael and his family that friends and family want to help. There are several factors now that Michael is navigating through. Christine needed to stop working in early June with her recent symptoms. In addition, Christine's treatment in the next few weeks is only 50-60% covered by insurance. Michael is still working now but also planning for contingencies as needed, and other major related expenses are coming up for health, travel, medical, and other life-related expenses. He does not know we are doing this but we know people want to help and have been asking.

John Redmond offered to launch this GoFundMe account with Paddy and me, as added support for managing and disbursing funds that will come in. We have agreed that any funds that come in will be disbursed directly to providers, insurance or vendors to help Michael, Christine and family with health, medical, travel and other related expenses.
