Joe's Medical fund #teamcapozzoli

Three weeks ago my father, Joe Capozzoli, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was given a very short window on life.  He was forced to have a conversation with his family sharing news that no one wants to say and that no person wants to hear.  Needless to say, we were all shocked and are struggling to understand the uncertainty our future now holds.

This new journey began with pain in his leg which was a result of blood clots.  Upon further testing to see what caused these clots, a spot on his pancreas was seen.  In the short period of time it took for a follow up appointment, the tumor had grown rapidly, resulting in diabetes, shutting down his pancreas entirely and causing severe pain in his abdomen.  The biopsy revealed stage 2 cancer, and although it has not spread, the tumor's location is currently  making it inoperable and allowing for very few treatment options.

If you knew my father, you would know that he is a man of action that always puts his family first.  As a result of a recent divorce and legal fees related to his business most of his savings have been depleted.  He has had to work multiple jobs to keep the family home and to provide for my two younger sisters, one who currently lives at home.  This home is now threatened as he has exhausted his savings and can no longer work.  Our family is has been beyond lucky with the generosity of my father's girlfriend who has stepped up and taken on an immense amount of responsibility but she cannot do it alone.

True to form, this man, my father, is going to fight this horrible disease.  H has enrolled himself in a study and is currently receiving targeted chemotherapy in a hope to shrink the tumor enough to remove it.  This would be the best case scenario, and may possibly give us another precious few years with him.  He has the mental and emotional support of friends,  family and those who love him, but he is struggling financially.  Focusing on fighting this cancer should be his first thought.  The money you donate would go toward medical expenses and maintaining his home in order to lessen this area of uncertainty and relive this aspect of his burden.  Any additional funds will be donated to charity to support others fighting this horrible disease.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this page.  Our family is so grateful for the love and support we are receiving during this difficult time.  If you would like to contact us directly for any reason, please email at [email redacted] or you can include the following link in an email if you would like to share this with someone who does not use social media.
