Team Brian
Brian was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in early 2016. Brian, Beth and their young daughter Saorla are facing this challenge with great courage.
Brian is a committed human rights educator who has devoted his working life to promoting human rights, equality, justice and global solidarity. Over the past decade, he has worked as an inspirational teacher educator, first at St Pat's and currently at the DCU Institute of Education.
Inevitably, there are many challenges and costs relating to living space, mobility and care that will continue to mount in the foreseeable future. Friends of Brian’s from his time at Amnesty International Ireland, St. Patrick's College, Fighting Words, Trócaire, DCU, the INTO and the other organisations Brian has been involved with have come together to provide some practical support for them.
