Brenda was first diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma back in 2010 and underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Her second diagnosis was in late 2013 followed by a second surgery which led to Osteomyelitis; inflammation of the bone caused by an infection. The infection caused Brenda to be hospitalized for two weeks and was then transferred to a Transitional Care Unit for one month. The third diagnosis of cancer was in May of 2018 which was just a surgery for removal of the tumor. Brenda’s fourth diagnosis was discovered in late March of 2020 right when COVID-19 had hit the United States (note: she is also a Type 1 Diabetic for 40 years). This diagnosis was set to look different from the previous three rounds due to the treatment that the doctors decided to go forward with. Brenda under went six intense weeks of Radiation Therapy (5 days a week) and Chemotherapy once every two weeks. Throughout those six weeks, Brenda had been admitted to the hospital twice. At the end of the six weeks, Brenda was in serious pain which placed her in the Emergency Room for the third time. While in the ER, they ran a scan that showed that the cancer had spread into the lining of her stomach. The doctors decided to move forward with strong Chemotherapy every three weeks. Brenda is currently in the process of going forward with the Chemotherapy.

Brenda has been out of work since March of 2020 and the financial burden and emotional stress has been hard on the family, to ease the burden please donate anything you can so Brenda and her family can just concentrate on her getting better!!
