1 week ago I adopted Bambi, an extremely sweet 2 year old pug from a rescue. She had obviously been used for breeding far too early in her life and had gone through 2 homes already. She was very underweight and needed some love. I'm shocked anyone ever let go of this baby because she is the most loving, sweetest, most affectionate little thing, but it was meant to be because I have a lot of love to give. So as with every rescue, she was spayed before coming home with me. Blood work was done and everything appeared normal. She came home with me and we spent a week in pure bliss, until she woke up one night vomiting. The next morning she peed blood. I took her straight to the hospital and X Rays showed masses (possibly blood clots) in her abdomen where her ovaries used to be. Her bloodwork also showed she was anemic and had jaundice. To make matters worse, when given a blood transfusion Bambi had a severe allergic reaction and had to be put in an oxygen chamber.
I didn't want to have to resort to a fund me page, but now as bills are approaching the $4000 mark with no end in sight I need help to give this baby the life she deserves. People might think I'm nuts spending this much on a dog I've only had a week, but I believe she ended up with me for a reason, I wasn't even looking for a dog, I just stumbled upon her and was instantly in love, and I'll do whatever it takes to help her.
The doctors are optimistic that with treatment she will be able to recover and live a normal full life! Help give her the chance she deserves
I appreciate any and all help more than I could ever express!!
Some of the bills are attached below to show you what we've been up against.
