I last saw my daughter on July 8th 2015. The visions from this day are forever burned in my mind. After getting out of the car and telling her I love her, I never imagined the journey that I was about to embark upon. The road has been long, curvy, and bumpy, but along the way I have grown into a much stronger person.
My journey started long ago with an intense game of emotional abuse and manipulation but the major battle started September 1st 2015 when my daughters father took her and left the United States without my knowledge or permission. When I asked for details of where they were or why they left, I was told by him and his mother they went on vacation to the Mediterranean and would return.
The return date came and went!
What I found out in the weeks to come was he never had any intention of returning and had secured living arrangements to stay in Turkey.
From there it has been a cat and mouse game of chase.
Quite a bit of time has passed and I have had the fight of my life but now it is time to finish the final sequence. Its time to get my daughter back and get us both the help we will require to heal.
It has now been over 2.5 years since I have heard her voice. Her father has taken it upon himself to be the judge and jury in this case. He decided that I should not have a relationship with our daughter and that she should not know her mother or maternal family. As well as have no contact with any of her old friends in the US. He has made it clear that he will stop at nothing to accomplish his goal.
Due to the massive amounts of trauma my daughter and I have endured in this situation, I must not stop this battle until I can bring balance back to our life. And with our intense story, hopefully inspire and educated others on emotional child abuse, parental alienation and pathological parenting.
The legal fees and expenses in this battle have been a massive undertaking. No one should ever have to pay to have the right to see their child grow up. No one should ever have to pay to save their child from abuse. But here I stand, I have found myself in that exact situation. I have done whatever is necessary to be able to continue this struggle. I have exhausted all savings and taken out loans to be able to sustain the fight this long term. The road ahead is still extremely daunting but I must not stop.
I have not only had to fight here in the US but also in Turkey and now the Netherlands. Travel expenses, attorney’s fees, plus time off work that I have had to devote to the case have grown to an unfathomable amount.
The cost of therapy and reunification will be extreme, We will be working with specialist who focuses on child abduction and parental alienation situations. I am confident they have the knowledge and skills needed to help us heal. When we enter reunification therapy we will need to create a short term living situation but I will also be limited on the amount of time I can work to produce income. Our days will be spent in the reunification process and creating healing time.
As you see this is quite a financial challenge. I have had to work very hard to rebuild my life after the divorce. I have continued to be successful healing from the emotional abuse that I suffered and starting to build my own career. But it has been a massive undertaking to additionally fund this fight as quickly as needed due to the extreme nature of the situation and speed in which it needs to be resolved.
