On December 28th, Adam had emergency surgery to fix a herniated disc that was putting pressure on his spinal cord. At the time of the surgery, he had complete paralysis and no feeling below his neck. He spent nearly a week at Iowa Methodist Medical Center before being moved to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital to continue his journey. While at Madonna, he is gaining more movement and strength, mainly in his upper body. He also has at least some feeling all over, down to his toes.

The money raised will help pay for the home modifications necessary for Adam to be at home with his family after his therapy goals are met. As well as pay for medical expenses that will not be covered by Insurance such as accessories needed for a wheelchair and a shower chair.  We have found out that a number of items on wheelchairs are not covered because they are considered not necessary, hand shower chairs are considered a convenience not a necessity.
He is expected to go home in March.
