Team Magma Robotics is a team based out of East Honolulu, Hawaii. Team Magma takes pride in building individuals and robots. Through outreach and mentoring, Team Magma has impacted the lives of more than 800 students. Each member of the team has a endearing passion to promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).
Team Magma has just returned from the FIRST Robotics Palmetto Regional Competition in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina bringing home the Regional Engineering Inspiration Award, a first for the Team.
This award celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team's school or organization and community. To be a recipient of this award, Team Magma was judged on the extent and inventiveness of its team efforts to recruit students to engineering with particular emphasis on the most recent year's efforts and the measurable success of those efforts. In addition, the judges also considered the extent and effectiveness of the Team's community outreach efforts with particular emphasis on the most recent year's efforts and the measureable succes of those efforts. Team Magma also had to show a commitment to science and technology education among the team, school, and community and its ability to achieve the FIRST mission and ability to communicate that at the compeition and away from it.
As a result of winning the Regional Engineering Inspiration Award, Team Magma earned the opportunity to compete in the 2017 FIRST World Championship held in Houston, Texas from April 19-22, 2017. To get the Team ready for Championship, we are seeking donations and sponsors to:
1. Purchase materials and supplies to put together a first class robot to compete in the 2017 FIRST World Champsionship.
2. Shipping cost to send the completed robot to and from Honolulu, Hawaii to Houston, Texas ensuring that the robot arrives in pristine condition ready for compeition.
3. Supplement travel costs for students
To be able to compete in the 2017 FIRST World Championship is a great opportunity for the students. We would like to provide this opportunity to as many students as possible and greatly appreciate your generosity and support to help Team Magma achieve its goal.
Thank you very much for your support and contribution to help Team Magma compete in the 2017 FIRST World Championship!
