Those of you fortunate to know Paul realize he is the most kind, thoughtful, generous, loving, and caring man you could possibly meet. Paul truly has a heart of gold and always puts his family and friends first in a time of need. Paul is a dad, a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a teammate, and a dear friend to us all.
Sadly, on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020, Paul suffered a life altering medical event and was diagnosed with having a stroke and needs our help and support. Since May 5th, Paul has been hospitalized in Boston on four separate occasions and spent weeks in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Tufts Medical Center. He’s been receiving acute rehabilitation at the Spaulding Center in Charlestown MA on the brain injury floor where he is working hard to regain motor functions and impairments. He has had several complications due to his stroke which caused interruptions in his rehabilitations and required additional hospitalization.  Paul is currently participating in an intense rehabilitation program which requires 3-4 hours of therapies daily. He is making some small and steady progress and continues to move forward in the right direction. Paul is dependent on the staff with his care and has a long road ahead of him. His medical team and doctors are all hopeful that he will make the best recovery possible, but will take some time to reach his full potential.
Paul has been on leave of absence from his employer and is carrying health insurance for himself and his son. It is unclear how long he can carry his medical insurance for despite having short term disability insurance he will be faced with health insurance premiums, co-payments, deductibles and other insurmountable expenses. Any donations no matter how small during these unprecedented times will be greatly appreciated.

* Your donation will help support and go to the following:

1)Costs of insurance premiums, co-payments, deductibles and any other medical payments so that his coverage and treatment will not be interrupted. (Emergency room visit, intensive care and hospital stay co-payments, ambulance fees, and doctors fees)

2)Any out of pocket expenses while receiving medical care at a skilled sub-acute facility prior to being discharged to home.

3) Any expenses associated with his rehabilitation and or medical treatment such as assistive or adaptive equipment or devices
not covered by medical Insurance, transportation to and from for follow ups and appointments. (Wheelchair, walkers, braces)

4) Any alterations or modifications to the home in order to be safely discharged such as, ramps, railings, grab bars, chairs, lifts.

5) If the above medical expenses and coverages are being met and a surplus of funds exists, funds could be then directed to offset
any additional living expenses and reduced income losses through employment.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of Paul’s rehabilitation. I will continue to update his status regularly and
please help spread and share his Go Fund Me Page.
