UPDATE: 7-22-2019 written by Maria: Today marks day 10 of chemo therapy. We have to wait at least 3 weeks to check her bone marrow to determine whether the chemo was successful. If it was not, she will require a second cycle. If it was, then the stem cell transplant will take place. The transplant process takes approximately 1 year: 2 months hospitalization after transplant and then 4 months of treatment via IV and an additional 6 months treatment via oral medication. She remains in good spirits.

Amanda is 17 years old and was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia on July 11th. The outpouring of concern and love for Amanda  has been overwhelming, and an understatement to say appreciated!

Amanda has strived for perfection all of her life.. She is a straight A Student and is an outstanding basketball player at the Fallsburg Central School.

Amanda will be starting her treatment tomorrow and the family will be traveling back and forth and/or staying in the area of the treatment center.  

Any donations collected will go towards travel, lodging, food and upcoming out of pocket medical costs.
