Team Yacy!

Donation protected

As some of you may know.. our cousin Yacy, at just 34 years old has been battling one of the most aggressive forms of breast cancer. Even through the horrible side effects, being hospitalized on her birthday, losing her hair.. She has been kicking ass I must say, and completed her chemo. It hasn’t been easy for her or her family, including her daughter Amelie. We still have a long road ahead of us.. and now I’m asking for some help! I’m reaching out to any friends who maybe own a business, a side business, or even a hobby.. that can donate their time, services, or product to help us with a fundraiser. It takes a village, and we’d appreciate any help! Please message me if you can help, or if you have any ideas!

-We've had an overwhelming response from people who want to donate directly to help Yacy, and we couldn't be happier to have such amazing people in Yacy's life! With COVID-19, and being immunocompromised, Yacy can not work at the moment.. which as many know is hard even without the added medical expenses. This helps in more ways than you  can even imagine! Thank you everyone!

"On May 7th 2020 in the middle of a fucking pandemic at the age of 34 I got the call that completely changed my life. I was told by the nurse that the biopsy results came back with invasive ductal carcinoma. I did indeed have breast cancer. Thats rare enough considering its like a 3% chance at my age.I was devastated. I was told dont worry we caught it early... May 9th i got another call additional pathology came back and I was progesterone/estrogen negative but something that is called her2 positive, (25% of breast cancers are her2+) One of the most aggressive breast cancers, right under triple positive. My body makes too much of the human epidermal growth factor and in turn the protein makes the cancer cells grow and grow and grow. I had to get an mri and the mri actually showed that I had 2 more tumors and it was already spred to my lymphnodes and they didn't see that on the mammogram so here i am between stage 2 and 3 That also meant that I had no choice but to start with chemotherapy and targeted immunotherapy. My chemo regimen is "tchp" taxotere/carboplatin 2 chemos and herceptin/perjeta immunotherapy, 6 rounds every 21 days. The 2 immunotherapies every 3 weeks for a full year. I started chemo May 27,2020. I have been through the worst side effects, hospitalized with clots in my kidneys, lost all my hair and today I celebrate a small victory of chemo completion 09/8/2020. I did the very best I could to not let this diagnosis defeat me. There is still a long road ahead of me. I have a double mastecomy on October 16 and then in November I will start radiation. This has been the craziest curve ball I have ever been thrown, but I am thankful I made it through the 6. Im thankful for the support of family and friends and I'm ready for the next battle." - Yacy
