Meet the Wallerstedts: Alex, Jessica, and their three beautiful children. The Wallerstedts are a fun, active, musical, thoughtful, creative, generous, Jesus-loving family. Between the five of them, their weekly schedule is full of taking or teaching piano lessons, working, volunteering at the food shelf, dancing, cooking, crafting, taking care of pets, going to school, running lights for or playing/singing on the worship team, and spending time together as well as with other family and friends.


At the end of August, Jessica was diagnosed with breast cancer. As of September 15th, it looks like her treatment plan is going to last approximately one year. They have made the decision to battle the cancer through traditional, natural, and holistic methods. As Jessica goes through chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and other medical treatments, she will also be following a strict diet that will boost the healthy cells in her body and help keep her immune system strong. While it is amazing that there are multiple ways to battle this illness, the costs of these specific foods and supplements are not covered by insurance. This, along with the regular medical bills for Jessica’s cancer treatments, as well as the costs of a back surgery that Alex will undergo in the coming months, assure that they will have out of pocket expenses greater than they are able to cover on their own.
