It's fall of 2019 and Blair is now a senior at Mayfield High School, in Mayfield, Ohio. He is a hard-working student and a member of the school’s track team. Blair is also a member of the Junior Olympics Bobsled Team. He is training hard to earn a spot to complete at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Switzerland!
Blair has the heart, determination, and commitment for this challenge – he just needs your support to help with the logistics. The team has very specific training requirements which require travel and equipment.
Where does your support go?
Your support will go directly to fund Blair’s travel, lodging, meals, and equipment. It is a big leap from the standard costs of high school sports to Olympic-level training and we don’t want logistics standing in the way of this life-changing opportunity.
Our Fundraising Goals – Please be a part of Blair’s journey!
Last year, our community of friends and families helped us get through the entire season. There are no words to express how thankful and humbled we are by your generosity. We continue to reach out as Blair’s journey continues. This season is underway and we begin his fundraising campaign once again. Our fundraising efforts for this season pick up right where last season left off. He has more travel this year than last, so we’re hoping to raise the difference between last year’s donations and the initial goal, which makes our target $8876.
Please consider supporting Blair with a donation – any amount helps. Also, please help us get the word out. Please share this page so that more people can not only join his journey, but so they can read Blair’s story and be a part of the excitement we feel every day as we watch him work and grow.

We got a call from who? About what?
In 2017, Blair competed in the AAU Junior Olympic All Sport Combine events. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash of ALL age groups and brought home the gold for his own. It was this performance that earned him an invitation from the Olympic Youth Bobsled coaching staff to spend a week in Lake Placid to learn about and train for the sport of bobsledding. What an honor!

The Journey Begins!
In the 2018-2019 season, Blair participated in trainings in Park City, UT and Lake Placid, NY. The training in Park City was presented just as an official race would be – uniforms, announcements – all the formalities. The coaches used the training as an opportunity to further prepare the kids for formal events. It was a great experience and Blair learned so much. He met many young people from around the world and developed new friendships.
Blair was invited to share his story with Rachel Hill on WTAM 1100, The Forum on January 13, 2019. Listen as Blair shares a bit his Junior Team USA experience and journey up to this point. (First 18 minutes)
We are entering season 2, working towards earning a spot at the Junior Olympics in January! This is a very intense season. Blair remains focused on his school work; after all, he understands he is a STUDENT first, then an ATHLETE! He continues to follow his weight training regime and work with his trainer, Rashida VanLeer-McHargh, at Iron Koi.
We are so excited to see where this leads our family. We’re so proud of Blair’s hard work and we’re honored to simply be on this adventure.
Thanks for your support and encouragement! GO TEAM USA!

More about Blair...
Blair is a 17 year old, senior in high school and lives in Northeast Ohio. He is a member of the varsity track teams, both indoor and outdoor. His favorite events are the 100m dash, 200m dash, 4x100m relay, and 4x200m relay. He is a hard worker and does his best to excel in everything he does, be it in school or on the track. He has two younger siblings who look up to him a great deal and he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Two years ago, Blair knew very little about the sport of bobsledding and had no idea what opportunities would come from the experience. Today, he is an aspiring Olympic Hopeful, prepared to represent his city, state, and country with humility and great pride. He recognizes that this opportunity requires a lot of hard work and dedication, having to balance school and training, but he is up for the challenge. He has committed himself and is looking forward to the opportunity to represent Team USA in the upcoming winter competitions. With your help, we can all continue to make this an incredible experience for him.
