- A Tribute to a “Special” coach, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Today we want to celebrate the very special life of Nicholas Trani, on what would have been his 76th birthday. We have created a scholarship in his honor.
To have known Nick Trani was to love him. He was selfless, kind, and most importantly made people happy. He was the best husband to the love of his life Pam. He had 3 beautiful children Nicole, Patrick and Danielle who he loved completely and brought him great joy. God blessed his family with 8 grandsons (Justin, Andrew, Daniel, Nicholas, Joseph, Christian, Dominick and Daniel) because the world needed more men like Nick Trani. God also knew they needed one gorgeously smart granddaughter Samantha to keep them all in line.
Outside of his family Nick put his heart and soul into coaching. Nick coached girls softball, and it wasn’t glamorous or flashy. He did it because he was ahead of his time. He saw the value in coaching young girls softball and knew it was something truly important. He was building up young girls confidence and teaching them what it meant to have good character. He knew it was important, worthwhile work and his players believed in themselves because of him. He made them feel valued and worthy of his time and energy. He inspired them through love and support. It was an honor to play for Coach Trani.
Coach Trani empowered girls on and off the field. He taught all the important things you need to succeed in life.
1. You play and live with your whole heart.
2. You don’t give up and push through even when life feels hard or unfair.
3. Never let them see you sweat! You smile!
4. You love deeply and you are loyal to those you love.
It is so important for us to acknowledge Nicholas Trani and the work he did for so many years and all the young girls he inspired. He coached all over Brooklyn; Our Lady of Grace Little League, St. Edmunds, St. Saviours, Bishop Kearney, St. Francis College and Adelphi University.
We want to build on his work for future student-athletes. Team Trani will keep his memory and his work alive. Each year a Softball Player from a Brooklyn Parochial High School will be awarded a scholarship for her hard work on the field and in the classroom. Special consideration will be made for those with more financial need. Please join us in making this a reality for future female student/athletes!!
All donations to Team Trani are tax-deductible.
