Charles’s Story:
On January 3rd, 2019 Charles Tocco went to the doctor to follow up on his previous diagnosis of a severe sinus infection possible bronchitis. The doctor did not like his oxygen level so he sent Charles to the ER for blood work and a chest x-ray to determine why he was still short of breath, feverish, and has cracklings in his lung. One test lead to another and eventually Charles was sent for a CT scan to rule out a blood clot. Upon looking at the CT scan results they found a large mass in the center of his chest pressing on his bronchial. - Needless to say Charles and wife Heather were completely stunned.
After a week in the hospital the Dr’s found a 2nd mass between his liver and stomach, Charles was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large Cell Lymphoma. This is a type of B cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
A impatient chemo therapy regiment has been scheduled over the next 6 months and the doctor is very hopeful. In the Dr.’s past experience this type of cancer has been highly responsive to this type of treatment.
After only 6 short months of marriage Charles & Heather were in complete shock to realize this life changing information. They know the next 6 months will be a fight but they also know with God and the continued love and support already shown by their friends and family they will be ok.
“There are no words to describe how much we both appreciate all the love and support we have received over the last week and a half. We would not have made it without each and everyone of you! Thank You!
Love, Heather Tocco”
As we all know today’s medical insurance options are stunningly poor. Huge deductible’s and a crazy amount of out of pocket expenses that can cause massive financial debts. With the likelihood that Charles will be very part-time or not working at all we are hoping to alleviate some of the financial stress for he and his wife, allowing them to focus on getting Charles better. Every little bit helps and would be very much appreciated.
