Team Tobias - Help Wesley Tobias beat leukemia

This GoFundMe has been started on behalf of Wesley Tobias 39, his wife Stacy and their children Kadin 13 and Brielle 2.  Wesley has been  diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) which is an aggressive, rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  There is no way to know when he will be able to go back to work since his immune system is so low.  Visits with his girls are limited since a simple cold could be life threatening for him.   They are going to need money for the mounting medical bills and to pay daily/monthly expenses like food, utilities, house payment, etc.  Their sick leave and PTO has already been used up waiting for the diagnosis, Stacy will probably need to take FMLA to take care of Wesley.

Wesley went to the doctor Friday May 17th because he started bruising terribly.  He was examined and they took blood.  He left, went about his normal day and even ran 3 miles.  Then he got a phone call from the doctor's office, he was told to get to the emergency room immediately.  His platelet and white blood cell counts were dangerously low.  He thought how could he possibly need to go to the ER when he didn't feel sick.  The doctor's office even called Stacy to let her know he needed to be in the hospital.  With platelets that low, any type of fall could lead to internal bleeding that they would not be able to stop.  So it was off to the hospital where testing began and 5 platelet transfusions were done through the next several days.  They learned there was a possibility he may have leukemia but the doctors were testing for everything under the sun.  The bone marrow biopsy was done on Monday May 20, 2019 and on May 22nd the diagnosis of leukemia was confirmed.  Today May 24th they were told that it is APL.  Wesley starts chemo today. 

It has been an extremely emotional time for Wesley and Stacy.   Wesley loves his girls so much, being away from them has been very hard for him.  He's also very active and it has been pure torture having to stay in the hospital away from his family, work and his racing.  They are wonderful people who do anything for anybody that needs help.  Now they are the ones in need.  They are putting this all in God's hands and praying that He lifts Wesley up and heals him.  Please pray for his healing and that his family will be able to deal with whatever comes their way.   With so much uncertainty at this time, they are both very worried about being able to pay all of the bills that are coming in.  Please consider donating to help them through this difficult time.  Any amount will help and be appreciated more than you know.
