Hello Friends and Family!

My name is Angela Starks-Sibley and I along with many friends and family members have been helping our dear friend Tiwanda fight with cancer. We’re reaching out to let you know that we are starting a fundraising campaign to help Tiwanda and her family with medical expenses, and we need your help!

In early March, Tiwanda went to the ER for some discomfort that we all thought was indigestion. Two hours later, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The type of cancer that she has is aggressive and has spread from her uterus through her pelvis and to both lungs. She has undergone chemo but we are seeking other treatments that are not as invasive.

While insurance covers many things, there are many things and some treatments that aren’t covered to help with maintaining a normal day to day life (such as a scooter, portable oxygen bag, etc.). Surprisingly, insurance also doesn’t fully pay for your daily DME rental equipment which is upward of 1K a month.

The effects of this illness are devastating her family and friends, however, Tiwanda is determined to live every day to the fullest! Although we can’t cure Tiwanda, we can help ease the financial burden and resultant stress that the family is facing. Our goal is to raise the entire $20,000 for them to help cover medical expenses, DME equipment and unexpected expenses that continue to come as a result of terminal illness.

We all love Tiwanda because she has a fierce spirit, faith and determination. Her fight is inspiring so many to be their best. She has been a GREAT friend to many of us since childhood years and we bear memoires that can never be replaced!
