Hello all,

For just shy of 2.5 years, our sweet Titus has been battling Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Originally diagnosed in February of 2019 with the primary tumor on his left adrenal glad and four more tumors in his skull, he underwent 7 rounds of chemo, two stem cell transplants, 12 rounds of radiation and 5 rounds of targeted immunotherapy. He was declared NED or no evidence of disease in November of 2019 and finished treatment in March of 2020.  Unfortunately in May of 2020, Titus relapsed for the first time with a lesion on his left femur and left rib. Navigating treatment in the time of Covid was complicated but we got through. We started with chemo, but his tumors progressed so his pediatric oncologist Dr. File decided on more intense chemo followed by 12 more rounds of radiation, chemo, and immunotherapy. Titus handled it better than any of us expected. Even though his disease had become more stubborn this time around he was again NED in March of 2021. Titus's most recent scans on May 21, 2021 found that he has relapsed again. He has a tumor in the same two spots as last time and a new lesion in his left humerus. There are two different plans emerging as the best possible treatment. The current options for Titus’s are a specific type of targeted radiation therapy at Levine Children’s in Charlotte, NC or targeted immunotherapy in New York City at Sloan Kettering. At this time there are multiple labs and tests that need to occur to help his Doctor decide the best treatment. As soon as we know more, we will update accordingly.

In the preceding two years his mother Victoria has been mostly out of work to be Titus’s full time care giver along with his father Paul. Treatment sessions almost always include multi day hospital stays that preclude having a normal life, let alone any available time or schedule for work. We are all so thankful that Titus has a healthcare plan that covers his medical needs, but there are other full-time caregiver costs that compound over time. The future plan for treatment will involve multiple trips out of state and the associated travel, meals, and lodging.

During all of this his mother Victoria and father Paul had an amicable divorce and continued with many others to support Titus in his fight against cancer. They have both remarried to wonderful bonus parents, Victoria to Sean and Paul to Adriel. Sean and Victoria welcomed Titus’s baby brother Seamus into their lives and they are all working at being a family.

Here we are, the parents, grandparents, family, and friends asking you again to help us help Titus fight this battle. We have learned the is no such thing as too little and nothing we can’t accomplish together.

Thank You
Grandparents David & Shana
