Team Talon, Heart Warrior

As some may know, sweet Talon was born with a heart condition called Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD). Tyler and Melanie found out about Talon's congenital heart defect when Mel was just in her first trimester. As any parents would be, they were scared and nervous, hoping and praying that everything would be okay. Talon being the little fighter he is, fought his way to 5 months old after being born before needing heart surgery and after multiple rescheduled surgery dates, he had his procedure on December 6th of this year.

During surgery, they found his left valve was very small, much smaller than anticipated. The surgeon and nurses did everything they could, but Talon's left valve is moderately leaking, which means he will more than likely need another surgery in the future to put in a mechanical valve.

The doctors had scheduled a surgery to be done just 5 days after his first procedure to reverse what they initially had tried to correct. Luckily, by the grace of God, Talon has been showing signs of improvement and a second surgery has been postponed as of now. Hopefully, he won't be needing another until he's big enough for the mechanical valve to be placed, as they do not make valves small enough for his size now. The doctors will continue to watch and wait along with slowly weaning him off his meds and his vent to see how he does with his initial surgery.

As we all know, the stress of waiting things out with all the unknowns, along with medical bills accumulating, eventually starts to take a toll on someone. So, we are asking for your help. Whether it be saying a prayer for Talon to continue to heal or making a contribute to the Hill family to help with expenses. Anything to help out this amazing family during these difficult times is very much appreciated. Tyler and Melanie would give their arm for those in need, so let's reach our arms out to them and baby Talon!!!
