Hello, my name is Colleen
Update as of May 16th 2023 ,
Michele has courageously fought her battle with stage 4 breast cancer for 3 good years. It pains me to say I have lost my other half today of all day our birthday. She leaves behind 3 young children and a big family blood and non blood members. She is a Marine Veteran and she lover her VMU1 family . So please any help would be greatly appreciated to get her stuff in order now that she has passed. ....
Three weeks ago, my twin sister, Michele was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. The doctors say she has HER2+ form of breast cancer which is an aggressive form. We are awaiting test results from a second biopsy and PET scan.
Michele, a US Marine veteran, is just 34 years old, and the single mother of three young children. Mikala is 9, Michael Jr is 6, and baby McKenna is 2 years old.
Michele currently lives in Hartville, OH in Stark County. She moved up there (away from her family) so that two of her children could be closer to their father who, at the time, was residing in the Akron area. He subsequently moved to Pennsylvania with his girlfriend. When the kids were out of school for COVID, Michele was mandated to continue working full time and custody was amicably shared. In July, Michele had the first of two carpal tunnel surgeries. He generously cared for all three children during her recovery. Unfortunately, this doesn’t appear as noble as it sounds. When it was time to return the children for the fall semester and, incidentally, his residency in PA was firmly established, he filed for custody through the Pennsylvania courts for all three children. Sadly, Michele had to appear for the initial hearing within days of learning that she has Stage 3 breast cancer.
As she fights for a fair custody settlement in the Pennsylvania courts, Michele has been granted visitation every two weeks. In order for her family to help her through this, Michele is receiving treatment in Mansfield and temporarily staying in the Galion area near us. Twice a month to spend precious time with her children, (visitation weekends) Michele will need the funds to make the five hour round trip to pick up the children in Pennsylvania and another five hour trip to return them. Her rent is already paid through December and with the current custody situation, it is imperative that she maintain this residency. However, Michele is still responsible for all of the utilities.
Initially, the doctor had said surgery and four chemotherapy sessions. Upon further testing, it has been determined that she will need at least 17 sessions - starting immediately. There is never a good time for cancer, yet, this seems to be another tough blow for my sister.
UPDATE: After having more test results come back. We were told that Michele is officially Stage 4 incurable. The test showed that she has spots on her Lungs and Liver.
