Team Scotland in the Commonwealth Championships

Hi! My name is Gemma and I have been offered to be apart of team Scotland in the upcoming Commonwealth Championships in powerlifting this October in Sun City, South Africa.

I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity as I never thought that I would be in this position when I started powerlifting in September of 2022. Through hard work, I have managed to become 1st in Scotland and 10th in the whole of the UK for my catagory (84+ Junior) with my current lifts being 160kg squat, 85kg bench, and 162.5kg deadlift.

Scottish Powerlifting is an amazing federation, but unfortunately, it is underfunded so whilst we can get help with some things through their sponsors like comp kits, other expenses such as travel and accommodation are not subsidised - hense this gofundme!

Scottish Powerlifting has estimated that it will cost roughly £2,000 in total so if you have any money to spare I would be most appreciative if you could consider donating as it will allow me to represent my country in my first international competition!
