Team Rowdy bring Gale home
Hi,
On April 24, 2021, Gale who is 89 yrs old and has been an avid Morel mushroom hunter almost all his life was doing what he loved hunting morels in the Buffalo Mountains in Tennessee. While hunting, he had a massive stroke and was unable to use his walkie to call his son in law, Ray. Its estimated he layed there per rescue report at least 2 hours when a group of 4 wheelers touring the mountain found him. They started administering care to him. They were also from Ohio! Go Bucks!! It took awhile for the cell signal to ping the towers for Emergency medical to get to him. He was hypothermic and then a long way from the hospital. He has gone to a high intensity rehab in Knoxville but has not had any functional strides. He is paralyzed on the left side and not medically or physically able to take a 7+ hour car ride to a skilled nursing facility in Sunbury, Ohio. Gale and his wife Ann have been displaced from home since April 24th. They are 89 and 86 years old. We have worked with Insurance for over 3 weeks and they refuse to pay for his transport of 13,900 even though the Rehab case manager said he would not be able to travel by car or ambulance. He is ready to come home! We are raising this money to pay for Angel Flight to transport him to the facility in Sunbury, Ohio. We, the family appreciate and are truly grateful for any help to get him back to Ohio.
Thank you,
Team Gale "Rowdy" Rinehart
