Team Relief for Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen Staff

Following Monday's mandate that Kansas City restaurants and bars close to guests, we have heard from so many friends and supporters of Tannin. Many of you have asked how you can help our staff. We have created this page for those who want to demonstrate that support. We know that our entire globe is suffering and in shock from the COVID-19 crisis and we ask that only those that can spare extra for our team to donate.
After Monday's mandate, Tannin has been forced to furlough all staff. This ensures that our team will be able to retain their health benefits and be eligible for any unemployment benefits. For almost all of our staff, unemployment benefits are limited and will not keep pace with their cost of living (even as they make severe sacrifices) and will not come close to replacing their previous income.
We have created this fund to help offset the severe loss of income that our staff will experience. General Manager Barry Tunnell, with help from other members of the Tannin team, will collect and distribute all donations. 100% of donations will be shared by staff members who have been furloughed. We will share the pool of donations by dividing it proportionally to each staff member's average weekly hours (maximum 40 hours per week).
Tannin has furloughed 36 employees. Our weekly payroll has averaged over $20,000.00. We know that we cannot replace this weekly income and we know that every citizen of the globe will suffer hardships, some much greater than our team's. We ask that every potential donor consider the best use of their resources before contributing to our team. We thank each of you for your support, love and consideration during this time independent of your decision to donate.
