Team Phenyx

Dear Family and friends,

On Wednesday my sweet cousin Nicole Andolsek and her amazing husband Jason Adolsek received the news that their 9yr old daughter Phenyx had a lump on the front left side of her brain. An MRI later revealed a tumor wrapped around the left cranial nerve that needed to be removed immediately. Phenyx went in for surgery Friday morning at Children's Hospital to have the tumor removed. After a 6 hour surgery the doctors were able to remove 75% of the tumor, but, 25% was left behind due to fear of serious potential nerve damage. The doctors were unable to identify the type of tumor and are waiting on the biopsy results.

Nicole and Jason have not left their daughter's side and as a result the missed work has started to add up. Neither are currently receiving any sick or vacation pay for their leave of absence and the medical bills are accumulating.
Doctors are unsure when they will be able to return home but Phenyx will need attention and care when they do. Care for which expenses are yet to be determined but will surely delay returning to work any time soon.

As a mother It breaks my heart seeing what Phenyx has endured. Her stitches run from the top of her head all the way down below her ear to her neck. She is unable to open her eyes because they are swollen shut. Phenyx is terrified and needs her parents. Their focus should be on her needs, the needs of her brother Keelan and the family more then the finances inevitably accumulating by the day. With 25% of the tumor still remaining and wrapped around her cranial nerve they face the possibility of chemotherapy, radiation or more surgeries.
