Ben Nolen is a husband, father of 3 teenage boys, godfather to my youngest son, and an all around amazing guy. Eight months ago Ben was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer despite never being a smoker.
Five months ago, my dear friend Clint Hamm proposed that he and I, John Halliburton, run a little foot race together. Mid-life is here, and we could either buy sport cars, or agree to a 50K, 31 mile, ultramarathon, with both of us having never ran that distance. Clint and I decided to turn this race into a fundraiser to assist the Nolen family.
Here's where you come in. Clint and I will do everything we can to finish the Trash Panda 50K and avoid the paramedics. We'd like you to sponsor our combined mileage and donate to the Nolen family based on how far we run. When we finish, we'll have ran a combined 62.1 miles. We've setup an intake form where you can provide your contact information and pledge level. Once the race is complete, we'll contact you with your final donation total. If you think it won't matter and we'll be finishing alongside the EMTs, you can also make a one-time donation of your choosing. All donations will be routed through this GoFundMe to ensure the Nolen's receive the full support.
Lastly, regardless of races, pledge levels, and all that, the Nolen's need your prayers. They're a wonderful family, we love them, and we think you would too.
All the best,
Clint & John - Team HalliHamm
