Team Molly: Flogging Molly's Cancer
Hi, my name is Megan, and I am starting this fundraiser for my sister, Molly. Last month, July 2021, Molly was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 33 after having stomach pains for several months. She has had multiple scans and procedures during an unexpected week-plus-long stay in the hospital after a biopsy that included removing a rapidly-growing mass from her lower abdomen along with a segment of her colon. All of this has happened in a matter of days after receiving the cancer diagnosis. Once she has healed from her surgeries, the plan as of now is to receive chemo treatments in Green Bay and live with our parents during that time.
Molly is a daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. She is a remarkable human being that I am lucky enough to call my sister. Molly is a very talented singer and performer, having been active in theater in Green Bay and Chicago, as well as a fabulous fiber artist, crocheting all kinds of creatures and characters. She has used her crochet talents to donate to several different organizations throughout the past year, and her vocal talents have touched all who hear her sing. She is funny, she is kind, and she is dedicated.
Many have asked how to help, and while I feel like I don't really know how to answer that, I do know she will need help with mounting medical bills. If you've made it this far, thank you.
If you would like to follow her on this journey, a Caring Bridge site has been created for her: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mollylecaptain.
Thank you for supporting Molly!
