T.E.A.M. Mentorship Program

As a former Division I athlete, one of the most valuable lessons I (Taylor Alexander) have learned is that there is much more to your identity than the sport you play. Being a collegiate athlete brought an unconditional support system, unforgettable travel experiences, and served as a great motivator to perform well in games, workouts, and academics. However, so much of your identity is consumed by being an athlete that you can't prepare for life after sports. Through my experiences, I have gained a passion for improving the out-of-sport transition for all collegiate student athletes. And as a result, I developed a mentorship program (T.E.A.M. to ease the transition to life after sports for other retiring student athletes. In an effort to bring my vision to fruition, I sought out an excellent group of former Division I Collegiate Athletes Kristin Watson (Marketing and Communications Chair), Kevin Stephens (Fitness and Nutrition Co-Chair), and Sierra Hendrix-Williams (Fitness and Nutrition Co-Chair & Mental Health Liaison) and training mental health professional Jasmin Brooks (Vice President & Mental Health Chair).

T.E.A.M.'s overall mission is to provide graduating student-athletes with individualized mentorship to facilitate a positive transition out of sports. T.E.A.M.'s foundation consists of 3 Pillars: Career Development, Mental Health Coaching, and Fitness & Nutrition Guidance. Through our integrative database, career action plan, mental health wellness guide, physical health & wellness plan, and individualized mentorship, T.E.A.M. will provide graduating student-athletes with the tools and resources necessary to effectively transition to life after sports.

With your support, we are hoping to meet T.E.A.M.'s first goal of launching our comprehensive 8-month pilot program in January 2022. We are hoping to obtain the funds necessary to register as an Limited Liability Corporation (LLC), to conduct recruitment of former and current student-athletes (mentors and mentees), to initiate school partnerships, to develop our program materials, and to assist in website/database development. More specifically, we are trying to get 200 people to donate $50 so we can reach our goal!

Below we have included the T.E.A.M. budget, funds we have invested so far, and our revenue model:
