Team Melinda! Help Melinda heal from a brain mass

Hello, we wanted to start this GoFundMe to help out the most amazing girl you could ever meet! Melinda Wourms-Jensen lights up every room she's ever walked in with her most amazing smile and energy. This girl and her wonderful husband, Ryan would help and have helped so many. Melinda is a member of the Itasca County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team and is employed through ASV.
Beginning the weekend of June 5th Melinda started having more and more of an earache in her right ear and headaches. A few more symptoms started after that including a fever, vomiting and diarrhea. She went in for a COVID-19 test June 8th which came back negative. Melinda's headaches became unbearable. Ryan then took her into the emergency room at Grand Itasca Friday, June 12th. We waited anxiously as no visitors could come in with her. They started with bloodwork and a CT. A nurse came out in the parking lot to get Ryan for the results, we knew this wasn't good. They had found a mass behind Melinda's right ear on the CT scan. Next they got her in for an MRI to confirm. They then called down to the Mayo to see what the next steps should be. They wanted one more different CT scan because they were trying to decide if it could be a Meningioma tumor or an abscess/infection. Before you knew it they had ordered an ambulance and they were taking Melinda down that night to the Mayo. They are still stumped at the Mayo. The guess is still a Meningioma tumor, which are usually non-cancerous thank God, but it's still scary that there could be a possibility of cancer. Her mass is 4cm and is in the lining of the brain. The neurosurgeon said they will be taking out a piece of her skull to remove the mass and it is good news where this mass is they shouldn't have to go into the brain tissue at all. They will look at the mass under a microscope immediately after followed by sending it out for further testing.
Melinda had a Cerebral Angiogram June 16th in prep of brain surgery and the brain surgery is now scheduled for Thursday, June 18th.
They are telling Melinda she needs to be out of work for possibly 3 months. They have added expenses of hotels/travel and being out of work. Melinda does have medical insurance but is unsure what will be covered at this time. Every little bit would help. Most of all prayers! Let's all come together and pray, pray so hard for this amazing woman, she needs all our love and support at this very scary time in her life!!!!!
