Mason's Story:
Mason Cobble, a 16 year old sophomore at Walker Valley High School in Cleveland, Tennessee. A witty, level-headed kid… A kind-hearted young man with a very sweet soul. Mason loves all animals especially his German Shephard, Huck Cobble.
Mason has always been the optimist of the family. His hobby is cooking. He has gotten to be quiet a good cook. Many times he is asked if he would like to be a Chef. He just nods and says "No, I just like to cook, experiment with food but mostly just cook for others,". He is also quite the prankster that loves to make people laugh.
Friday morning, February 22nd, 2019, School was out for weather concerns. Mason’s mother, as she was going out the door to work, just happened to hear Mason gasping for air in the middle of a full blown seizure. Mason has never had a seizure prior to this day. In fact, Mason has always been perfectly healthy. Mason was taken by ambulance to a Tennova hospital in Cleveland. There, it was determined he had a large mass on his brain. Immediately, Mason was sent to Children's hospital at Erlanger for further treatment which resulted in surgery first thing the next morning. The mass was successfully removed however; a wait began for test results. Finally, after three days of waiting, Tuesday’s news was not what everyone had hoped for. The tumor was malignant.
Mason has recently been scheduled for a Proton Radiation Treatment which will be performed in Knoxville, TN. The process, at this time, will require five days a week treatment for 6 consecutive weeks along with chemotherapy. MD Anderson has also been consulted for a second opinion. That appointment is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th.
With the Promising Medical Recommendations, The Many Family, Friends and Strangers who are Calling, Commenting, Texting, and Posting with Support, With all that have and will continue Praying with us… and with our Strong Faith in God, we will proudly walk this journey together in God’s Gracious Hands.
