My nephew and niece could use our help to give them a leg up as they continue to put up thier best fight against Mark's  Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Mark was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in September 2017 after experiencing a new onset of abdominal pain. He was admitted to hospital and had his gallbladder removed, and thought, as most of us would, that he would have a short recovery, a minor set back, but would be back in the saddle within a week.....nothing could have prepared him for the news to come the next day. The CT images revealed Stage 4 Colon Cancer with some suspicious spots on his liver. Mark and Megan's world was turned upside down, but they rolled up their sleeves and started thier battle right then and there. Over the past 2 years, Megan and Mark have managed all of the surgeries, the appointments, time away from work, travel back and forth to Mayo Clinic, lodging for the stays and all of the burden on thier own--- all the while keeping the home front running at full speed and supporting their son Jake through all of the activities of his high school career; to include the stress of being parents of a Varsity Hockey Goalie... This month marks 1.5 years of Battling.... He has been through countless surgeries, countless rounds of chemo therapy, he has endured blood clots, blood transfusions, drains, tubes and way too much time away from home and the life he longs to get back to. Although this has not kept Mark and Megan down....they could use our help. As you can imagine (actually--it's quite unimaginable unless you've been through it)….the emotional endurance required to just get through each day is taxing enough....if we could help in some small way to lift the burden of finance.....it would help them so much to just take a breath, have a minute-a short respite from the worry--so  they can focus on Mark's healing and turn away from the worry of the dollars....for even a minute.....
So many have asked how they can help and until now, Mark and Megan have accepted nothing but prayers … today I asked if we could have permission to continue those prayers, but to also help to lift thier financial burden just a bit....It is hard for any young, independent, responsible and self sufficient family to agree to....but sometimes life throws us a sucker punch that we could never see coming and we need a little help to regain our balance. This is that time for Mark and Megan. They've been sucker punched and this is our chance to finally offer some help.
