My brother-in-law Manuel and wife Katiria Concepcion have been through such a hardship these past few years after the birth of their 6th baby boy Marc Anthony AKA Super Incredible Iron Marc. In January of 2012, Marc's mom Katiria was told by her doctor that the baby she was expecting would be born with a heart defect and the chances of surviving were very little so she was told to think about possible termination. Of course, being a mother of already 5 boys, termination of pregancy was no option. But knowing the seriousness of the lifelong complications the baby would face, she turned to the Lord and asked for guidance and at that moment baby moved in her belly. It was then that she knew that no matter the complications and/or struggle, she was going to be by his side through it all.
On March 20th 2012, Marc was born at only 26 weeks and weighed 1lb (super tiny). He has undergone about 10 surgeries in which 4 of them have been open heart surgeries and yet he has miracously overcome them all.
Although doctors said he wouldn't make it far, Marc is now 4 years old. He is unbelieveably such a happy child but of course has his wild side too lol. For the past 1 1/2 month, Marc has been hospitalized at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital in New York recovering from his last open heart surgery and other complications and yet he still manages to smile. He adores his brothers and dad but of course nothing like mama. He loves his mother with all his heart, she has been his nurse through it all but most important she is his guardian angel. She is incredibly the strongest person we know (this entire family can agree). She gives her all for all six of her boys starting with Aaron (20), Manuel Jr. (16), Miguel (12), Michael (11), Matthew (7) and lastly Marc (4). As well as Manuel which has always been a dedicated hardworking husband/father.
Marc is such a loving kiddo and truly is as strong as his mother. He is a fighter and definitley doesn't give up. Although, his health condition is currently stable, it is very complicated. Doctors are now saying that he might need a heart transplant but because Marc developed pulmanery hypertension and is not being considered a candidate at the moment. Please keep Marc in prayers!
Both parents greatly appreciate all the prayers from family, friends and even strangers. They appreciate all those lending a helping hand especially her mother who is taking care of the other boys in her absence along with Manuel. Also, those helping to get the kids to and back from school. Those visiting Marc and those sending their love via calls and text messages. A very special thank you to all who have visited Marc and to those that due to circumstances and or being sick have not been able to it's understandable. He loves you all! Let's share this and all come together to help one way or another raise funds for Super Incredible Iron Marc and his family.
