Once they started ice skating and playing hockey, they loved every moment of the game.
They both started skating when they were three years old.
They have played for the local girl's team and mixed house team.
Yet, they strive for more practice, coaching, and games.
They have successfully passed the tryouts for the travel team and will be two of the four girls playing on the travel team this year.
There is only one roadblock in their way, and it's money.
The fee for the travel team is around $1000 per person (plus gear upgrade and gas to travel to games).
It is a substantial budget for their family who are indirectly impacted by the war in Ukraine.
Their grandparents live in Crimea, a contested territory between Russia and Ukraine.
Their parents came to the US for school and cannot return to Crimea for safety reasons.
