Help Lindsey — A Young Mom’s Journey to Recovery
On Tuesday morning, Lindsey and her husband, Nick, took their brand new baby to his first pediatrician appointment. She was feeling great—just one week postpartum and full of joy. But while at the appointment, Lindsey was suddenly overcome by excruciating chest pain and difficulty breathing. The staff acted quickly and called 911.
At the hospital, doctors discovered what no one could have expected: an aortic dissection, one of the most critical and life-threatening medical emergencies. It occurs when the inner layer of the aorta—the main artery carrying blood from the heart—tears. Blood surges through the tear, causing the layers of the aorta to separate. Without immediate surgery, this condition is almost always fatal.
By an absolute miracle, Lindsey survived long enough to be airlifted to a critical care hospital and undergo emergency open-heart surgery. Her survival is nothing short of extraordinary. But she remains in very critical condition, now in the ICU on dialysis, with her body fighting to recover.
Lindsey is not only a beloved wife and the mother of two very young boys—including a newborn—she’s also a pillar of support in our community. She’s the first to show up, the first to pray, the first to give encouragement, and the last to ask for anything in return. Her faith is unwavering. Her joy is contagious. Her kindness is unmatched.
Now, Lindsey needs us.
We are all aching as we face this reality of life while she continues to fight for it.
This GoFundMe has been created to directly support Lindsey’s family—to ease the overwhelming burden on her husband as he cares for their children and manages the uncertainty of each day in the ICU. Every donation will help cover meals, childcare, bills, travel, and the many unexpected costs that come with a medical crisis of this magnitude.
We don’t know what the next hours and days will bring, but we do know that God has His hand on Lindsey and her family. And anyone who knows Lindsey, knows that she would be the first to help someone else in this situation. Now we have the opportunity to show up for her in the same way.
Please give what you can. Every moment, every prayer, and every bit of support matters.
