Lindsey is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We've known each other for more years than I care to count, and if you know Lindsey, you'll know she is one of the last people who would ever ask anyone for help.

She's far too humble, fiercely independent and, quite frankly, far too stubborn to do something like this for herself. So I'm doing it for her.

Lindsey has stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread extensively to her liver. She is facing something no one should ever have to face, while also being a mum to three gorgeous little boys, aged just 3, 6 and 8.

She is receiving treatment through the NHS, but Lindsey and her family are also exploring additional treatment options that aren't routinely available or funded through the NHS. This includes specialist treatments in the UK and potentially overseas, as well as consultations, testing and other therapies that could give her more treatment options.

Some of these treatments can cost thousands of pounds, and when you're already dealing with the unimaginable reality of a stage 4 diagnosis, worrying about whether you can afford to pursue another option is the last thing any family should have to think about.

It could potentially give Lindsey the most precious thing of all, more time.

More time to be Mum. More birthdays and Christmases. More first days of school, family holidays, cuddles on the sofa, arguments over bedtime and completely ordinary days that suddenly don't feel ordinary at all.

Her boys are only 3, 6 and 8. They need their mum, and Lindsey wants to be here for as much of their lives as she possibly can.

That's why I've set this page up. I want Lindsey to be able to explore every appropriate treatment option available to her without the decision coming down to whether she can afford it. Funds raised will help towards the cost of specialist consultations and treatments, tests, travel where necessary and the other expenses that come with accessing treatment outside standard NHS care.

Just to be completely clear, every donation made through this fundraiser is for Lindsey. The money raised will go directly to her to use towards her treatment and the associated costs. I'm simply setting up and sharing the page on her behalf because she's far too humble to ask for this help herself.

I know there are so many demands on everyone's finances and there is absolutely no expectation to donate. Anything you can give, however small, will help. And if you aren't able to donate, sharing this page could be just as valuable.

Lindsey would probably hate me saying all of this, which is exactly why I'm the one setting this up rather than her. Sometimes you have to let the people who love you help.

And there are a lot of us who love her. ❤️

Let's give Lindsey every possible chance to keep fighting, and every possible chance for more time with her boys.
