Hello, I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of dear friends, Alisha Coleman, Kyara, and Ja’Karian. This sweet family has fought battle after battle with cancer starting back in 2004, and they have never let it get them down, but now they need our help. Kyara’s cancer has returned for the fourth time and has unfortunately spread to several organs. She underwent surgery last week at UAB to try and ease the pain and pressure that a large inoperable tumor was placing on her back and kidneys. After this surgery, the decision was made that it was best for her to return home on hospice. She arrived home by ambulance on Sunday.

While we are all heartbroken by this news and continue to pray for a miracle, we want to do whatever we can to help reduce the burden on Alisha so she can spend as much time with Kyara and Ja’Karian. Alisha has had to have several surgeries related to her 2023 breast cancer diagnosis, with her just having her last surgery this summer. During her healing from the surgery this summer, she was unable to work, and it added extra weight on her to try and continue to provide for the family as a single mother. She had just fully gone back to work when once again they were faced with the devastating news about Kyara. While Kyara spent the last several days at UAB, Alisha worked full shifts at Lowe’s and cleaning houses, then would travel back and forth to spend time with Kyara.

While only our Mighty God knows what the future holds for Kyara and this family, we as a community can help with expenses related to her care, meals, medical bills, and helping Alisha just to be present with her daughter and son during this time.

I love this family dearly, and I have personally seen Alisha helping others while she was battling her own struggles. Not to mention, she always has a smile on her face even on the darkest of days.
