On December 24, 2025, our beloved Kirk Schoppe was involved in a serious accident that left him with three broken vertebrae and a torn artery. These injuries led to a major stroke and further complications. Kirk is currently in the ICU on breathing support, where he is fighting to stabilize and recover.
Kirk is expected to remain in intensive care until his condition improves. Once he is stabilized, he will transition to a rehabilitation facility, where he will begin the long process of re-learning to speak, walk, and more.
During this difficult time, Kirk’s wife Carrie-Anne and their two children are facing mounting medical bills and day-to-day expenses. As a family, we are reaching out to our friends and extended family for support. We know how much Kirk means to so many of you, and we’re grateful for the community surrounding them right now.
How You Can Help
1. Financial Support
Donations will be used only for Kirk Schoppe, Carrie-Anne Freeman and their two children’s needs related to this medical crisis, including:
- Hospitalization costs, specialist bills, imaging, procedures and out-of-pocket expenses not fully covered by insurance
- Rehabilitation costs (facility costs, physical/massage/mental/follow-up neurology/vascular care)
- Family therapies
- Prescription medications, medical equipment, and mobility/support devices needed during recovery
- Household and family stability expenses while Kirk is unable to work (mortgage/rent, utilities, groceries, childcare, transportation)
- Home modifications if needed for safe mobility after discharge (ramps, bathroom accessibility, safety equipment)
- Transportation & mobility (buying or modifying a vehicle, transportation services to/from the hospital or rehab)
Note: We will continue to update the goal amount as the full expected costs become clearer.
2. Sharing
Please help by sharing this fundraiser with anyone who knows and loves Kirk. We’ll keep this page updated as a central place for news and progress updates.
3. Prayers and Encouragement
As a devoted Catholic, Kirk draws great strength from his faith. Your prayers bring him tremendous comfort and support during this journey. Please keep Kirk, Carrie-Anne, Roman, and Willa in your prayers as he faces the road ahead.

Go Team Kirk!
How funds will be managed and delivered to the family
My name is Jeremy Adam, and I’m Kirk Schoppe’s brother-in-law. My wife and I, Kristin Freeman, created this fundraiser with Kirk’s wife, Carrie-Anne Freeman, to support Kirk and their family during his recovery.
Carrie-Anne has been added as the beneficiary of this fundraiser. All GoFundMe transfers will be sent directly to Carrie-Anne through GoFundMe’s beneficiary transfer process and deposited into her bank account.
Because Kirk is currently unable to manage financial logistics while hospitalized, Carrie-Anne will manage these funds on behalf of the family, using them only for Kirk’s medical and rehabilitation needs and the household expenses that support their family during his recovery. We will continue to share updates here so donors can see how their support is helping the Schoppe family through Kirk’s recovery.
If any part of the plan changes due to unforeseen circumstances, we will update this fundraiser immediately.
