Honoring the Life & Legacy of Jose Dominguez

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith"
-2 Timothy 4:7

Jose Dominguez embodied these sacred words throughout his courageous 13-month battle with myofibroblastic sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. His diagnosis in August 2024 led to the amputation of his right leg at the hip by November. Unfortunately the silent killer roamed to his lungs only to grow massively and steal his breath away.

He peacefully passed on August 30, 2025, demonstrating his unwavering faith and his fighting spirit.
The struggle was real but his race to heaven through was won.

Jose was a TRUE CHAMPION
Through his life he proved his love for outdoor adventurer; he was a triathlete, a fix it all and a race car aficionado. He was more than a free-spirt. To us, he was our warrior, our rock, a true family man. The one we could go to for a good laugh or simply to feel heard. His level of commitment radiated in everything he did.

Jose was an inspiration to everyone who knew him; the epitome of positive attitude. At only two weeks after his amputation he was already planning on racing again. His spirit and determination to "race with grace" touched countless lives and showed us all what true courage looks like.

How You Can Help Our Family
In the wake of Jose’s illness and passing, your support will help ease our family’s financial burden and support the Team Jose Legacy Project.

In typical Jose fashion, the amputation of his right leg (at the hip) due to this aggressive cancer didn't squash his competitive spirit. Shortly after losing his leg, Jose started weight-lifting, shooting hoops, rowing and training on crutches for a trilogy, a series of 5k races where he would compete among athletes without disabilities.

This reminded us that attitude not circumstances define an athlete.

The Team Jose Legacy Project will take place in December 2025 (his birthday month). Participants will be invited to walk/run and witness the unveiling of Jose's Buddy Bench, in collaboration with Buddy Bench Project 501(c)3. There he will continue to be "everyone's buddy".

If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser with others who may be able to help.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, support, and love as we walk through this devastating loss.

With gratitude,

The Dominguez Family

P.S. For those who knew Jose and got the opportunity to experience his smile, KEEP SMILING. Thanks for your kind contribution (no matter the size as long as it is from the heart) I am truly grateful that thanks to your generosity it will be a December to Remember!

Event Date TBA (Will be around his birthday Dec 9)
