As many of you know, my dad, Johnny Perez (Johnny Bang) , was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on May 27th, 2014. I had just graduated High School when we recieved the news.. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to hear. But it was even harder watching this horrible disease try to bring him down.. Those of you who know my dad, know how loving and happy and strong he always is! He put up a good fight but unfortuatley his cancer came back almost 2 years later.. A few months ago we were given this horrible news and my dad has been in and out of the hospital since.. Today, July 27th, 2016, we recieved a phone call from Stanford saying they want to go on with a half-match bone marrow transplant. We are hoping this study will give us more time with our dad. Hopefully another 40+ years! This brings me to the reason I have created this Gofundme account.. During this whole experience, my mom had to quit her job in order to help care for my dad. It is definitely not easy for us to ask for help, but we realize we can not do it all by ourselves. In order to go through with this transplant, my parents will have to pay for living expenses out in Stanford for my dad to stay during the process. They also need to keep paying rent here at home so they have a place to come to when it's over. The money we raise will not only go towards living expenses, but also towards medical expenses as well as food and gas.. I really hope we are able to reach our goal if not exceed it. It is really hard watching my parents stress over money and debating whether or not they can even go through with this process that could potentionally save my fathers life!!
