My name is Jennifer (Jenn). I’m reaching out with a humble heart as I face one of the biggest battles of my life. I’ve been diagnosed with advanced myelofibrosis, a rare and serious blood cancer caused by a genetic mutation. My only chance for a cure is a bone marrow transplant — a long and challenging journey that will take me away from home for several months as I am being treated by the Cleveland Clinic. Before the procedure, I’ll need to go into isolation in Cleveland to prepare my body for transplant, and during that time, my family will need a place to stay nearby so they can safely visit and support me. After the transplant, I’ll remain in the Cleveland area for at least 100 days (with a caretaker) for daily monitoring, recovery, and follow-up care. Many of the costs — including medications not covered by insurance, housing, and everyday living expenses — must be paid out of pocket. Everything for isolation must be new.
