Team Jeff Beats Leukemia
On Sunday October 6th, Jeff went to the hospital for flu-like symptoms, excessive bruising on his body, and blood in his stool. A few hours later he was told he had a rare form of leukemia and was immediately given blood platelets and plasma and was informed he would be flown down to IU Health Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis that same evening. With his family by his side, Jeff’s life took a drastic turn towards the unknown and fear and heartache set in.
The following morning Jeff had a bone
marrow biopsy to pinpoint the type of
leukemia. The tests were positive for Acute
Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL), an aggressive form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Chemo
and arsenic treatment began immediately.
With his various blood counts still decreasing, Jeff still requires blood platelets daily. Jeff and his family were told that he would be in the hospital for treatment for at least a month.
This new and unexpected journey has already put a strain on Jeff and his family. His wife, Nancy has been staying by his side down in Indianapolis and travels the 3 hour drive home when she needs to. She must return to work this coming week to provide the only source of income they will now have.
Team Jeff has no doubts that this leukemia will be beat, but with all the medical expenses and Jeff’s health so critical that it required him to be flown to Indianapolis, we are asking for any donations possible. We have set our goal to support Jeff and his wife Nancy with as much of the financial burden as we can. We all have an opportunity to help him and his family. By doing so, they won’t have to worry about the steep costs of his treatment, and can focus solely on his battle against cancer.
Any contribution you are able to donate will help him tremendously.
Thank you for your time and your positive thoughts for Jeff and his family! ❤️
Go Team Jeff❣️
