Thank you again to all of our friends for going in the gap for Jazmine Nicole.
Jazz had been complaining of a cold for a little over a week, with no resolve when she took over the counter medications. My mother was already scheduled for a visit and planned to stay 1 week. Upon arriving to Atlanta Wednesday night (8/17), Jaz picked her up and at that time she was still suffering with the cold, but was also complaining of fatigue, headache, chest pains and palpitations. By Friday (8/19), the pain was too much to bear so she sought treatment at the emergency room. Tests were run and her heart showed irregularities, so she was admitted. At some point during the wee hours of Saturday morning, she suffered a cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated. At that point a biopsy was taken of her heart to rule out giant cell myocarditis. She was progressing well until she suffered another cardiac arrest on Monday (8/22). She was taken to emergency surgery and placed on an ECMO machine (which oxygenates and cleans her blood and lessens the strain of her heart having to do so much work). She has since been transported to another hospital that specializes in cardiac and vascular care. She is now awake, talking, and responding to commands. However, she is still extremely critical. Her heart is VERY sick and is not functioning at full capacity. Her biopsy results confirmed that she indeed has Giant cell myocarditis.
Jazz has made so much progress as of (10/16). Instead of the heart transplant originally stated by her doctors, she has an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator implanted to monitor, pace and shock her heart should her heart rate becomes irregular or her rhythm is off. Her body can't take the transplant at this time because of the amount of antibodies her body is carrying. Her body would reject a heart transplant. Her insurance does not cover all of the medical expenses and medications she will need. Her hospital expenses not including her meds are already at $200,000 which the insurance is only covering about half of that. This does not include her rehabilitation hospital expenses. These doctors have gone above and beyong to keep Jazzy alive. For that I as her mother am so grateful. They didn't think about expenses at that time. They did everything to keep her alive regardless of costs. Jazmine can't work anyones job right now so her household expenses are struggling at the moment as well. As her mother, I am asking for assistance to assist with all of those expenses. The funds will go directly to Jazmine and to a medical account that the hospital set up for her. I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated to Jazzy. She appreciates you all for supporting and sending your love to her. You can also send directly to her cash app $theJNicoleWay
Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
