Team Jaycen’s fight to beat Leukemia

This amazing family came into my life a while ago, and we have been like family every since! Little Jaycen just turned 3 years old and has already had a rough start to his young life. Jaycen was born with Down syndrome. At the very young age of 5months old, Jaycen had open heart surgery to repair, not 1 but 2 holes in his itty bitty heart. Surgery was successful and he has gone on to live a pretty normal life.  He is the happiest toddler you will ever meet in your life. He is full of laughs, smiles, hugs and kisses for everyone. Jaycen fell ill about 2 weeks ago, fever spiked high, he would not eat or drink, he just couldn’t seem to shake the cold. Mom and Dad finally took him to the emergency room and he was diagnosed with RSV. I’m sure most of you know, RSV is horrible for children. Jaycen was admitted right away to help him fight this. After some blood work to check Jaycen’s levels, the doctor came in, sat down with mom and dad and said “What I am about to tell you is going to change your whole life, your husband’s life and your families life.” They then heard the devastating news that Jaycen has B-cell Acute LymphoBlastic Leukemia. It’s something that no parent ever wants to hear. Jaycen now begins a long, tough road. He will have surgery Friday to put in his port and begin Chemotherapy the same day. He will be in the hospital for at least month and maybe some more. The outlook is promising, but this family is going need some help getting thru this whole ordeal. Joey and Joni are your typical family, both parents work to provide for their 2 loving boys. With Jaycen in the hospital for the next few weeks, both parents are taking shifts to be home and at the hospital with each of their children. This is a very stressful time and I am hoping to lessen the burden, even just a little bit, of the financial burden they will face. Both of their jobs are being as helpful as possible, but we all know that with no work, means no income. I am asking for any and all help for this amazing family. All of the donations will help them with traveling expenses, living an hour away, food, and bills accumulated with their home.
